With a gorgeous coastline stretching for hundreds of miles across the country, there are plenty of beaches where you can bring your dog. And, when in Chile, you absolutely must visit at least one beach with your dog to really experience this important part of the Chilean culture - the relaxed, gorgeous, beach culture that is! Head to the northern parts of the country for nice warm waters year round or the south for quieter beaches with icy waters. Try to plan your trip for a sunny day and check if there are parking fees before heading out the door (many beaches are free but some do charge anĀ entrance fee!).

Pack your bags for the beach keeping you and your pup in mind. While you will need sunscreen to lay around on a Chilean beach, your dog may need an umbrella to provide some shade from the hot South American sun. Bring a towel for your dog to lay on and a towel to help them dry off as well. Your dog will also need some fresh water, so a portable water bowl is ideal.
