Introduction

You’ve heard the saying “fight like cats and dogs,” right? Cartoons and films across history have convinced us that dogs absolutely hate cats. They see them as slinky, sneaky spies that hiss and cough up hairballs. It’s ingrained in us that when a dog sees a kitty, oh, it’s on! The chase ensues, and there’s no getting a pup back when they’re on the scent of a feline. But hold on. Some dogs actually like cats? That’s right. Dogs and cats can also be best buddies, so stick around for some activities that they’ll enjoy together.

Activity description
Contrary to popular belief, fetch isn’t only for dogs. Cats actually enjoy it as well. We all love a little fun and games every now and then. Fetch is especially exciting when you have a playmate to make it interesting. So this is perfect! If you have both a dog and a cat that love each other to the moon and back, they’ll really enjoy this race. They’ll be worn out by the time the game is over. Furball Fetch can last a solid hour, but all involved are ready for a break after a while. Get ready to have a wonderful, hysterical time!
Step
1
Choosing the toys
Even though your dog and cat adore each other, they may still have their separate toys. And they may like it that way. So don’t spoil the fun by only grabbing a single toy. You might start off by simply letting each of them run and fetch their own toys before you introduce the idea of competition.
Step
2
Fetch, furballs!
Next, try throwing only one toy. This might be a shared toy or even a new one. This way, both parties are interested in playing. Launch the toy, and watch as both puppy and kitty track the toy down. Some tug-of-war may begin, but soon, one will win and be headed back to you with the toy.
Step
3
Invite others to play
If you have some more doggies and kitties in the neighborhood or furry friends that meet you for playdates in the park, this game is great in groups. The more the merrier! It’s fun for the animals to compete and exert so much energy. They’ll be tired out for sure by bedtime.

Activity description
This activity can get a little bit messy with the dogs, but cats are normally more calculated and patient when it comes to searching for the prizes. Who knows, though? Your dog and cat might be just the opposite. Some of you out there might not have both a dog and a cat, but your pup may still love kittens just the same. Talk to some of your friends with cats, and see if they’ll come over for playdates. Of course, it has to work for cats as well. It can’t simply be only the dog doing all the liking.
Step
1
Get your supplies ready
You’ll need to grab your doggo’s favorite toys, as well as your cat’s. Also, run to the dollar store and pick up some brown paper bags. You know: the kind you used to take your lunch or snack to school in! After you’ve collected toys and bags, you’re ready to begin this little activity.
Step
2
Toss and go
Things can get kind of crazy with this game. The animals are going to smell their toys and treats inside the bags, so you won’t really have to worry about them ripping into the wrong bag. Stuff the toys inside the paper bags, twist or roll up the open ends of the bags, and toss several out into the floor.
Step
3
Salvage what you can
They’re either going to rip into the bags or spend time trying to open them up. Either is fine. The point is to get to the treat or toy. When all the treasures have been found, load some bags again. Depending on how your pets opened their bags, you may be able to save a few from the previous game.

Step
3
Be inspired

Speaking of sharing… You might force your pet to play with one toy only for a little while. When there’s only one option, the dog and cat will have to share. As much as they love each other, they’ll probably want to.

Remote Controlled Toys

Technology is everywhere, including our pet stores. Check out the remote controlled toys because dogs and cats alike love them. You might even have the two play a tablet game. Maybe they’ll share!
