Activity description

When you are an avid golf player, you need to dedicate some time working on your drive. The ability to hit a golf ball far and with accuracy is essential for anyone who wants to improve their golf game. What is even better about practicing your drive is that you can do it with your dog. That’s right, your dog can actually help you work on your drive. By having your dog by your side, you have an instant way to retrieve your balls and you can also rest assured that your dog is getting some good exercise. Chasing down those balls is hard work!

Step
1
The right range
Find a driving range that allows you to bring your dog. If there are none nearby, head to a large park with few people (you don’t want your ball hitting anyone!) or simply go to your backyard to play. Don’t forget to bring our ball and a set of drivers! If a golf ball is too small for your pup to carry, consider hitting a tennis ball instead.
Step
2
Hit and chase
Set up your ball on a tee or, if you are using a tennis ball, just directly on the ground. Aim for a spot where you would like to try to hit your ball and wind up. Hit the ball at your target or simply see if you can hit it really far. Watch as your pup instantly chases the ball.
Step
3
Fetch
Have your dog fetch and retrieve the ball to you for you to hit again. If you are playing with multiple balls, always wait until your dog is back by your side before hitting again, you don’t want a stray ball to hit your dog by accident! Hit the ball again and again until you have perfected your drive and tired out your dog!

Activity description

While every golf course may not be dog-friendly, there are a few that are. Finding a local golf course that allows you to bring your dog with you is like finding a rare treat. Now, not only do you get to go golfing but your dog can come and enjoy the day with you as well. Many of the courses that do allow dogs have specific rules regarding dog behavior and rightly so. After all, you don’t want to have loose dogs running everywhere, potentially getting in golfers way or hit with balls themselves. Be sure to be a good dog owner and respectful owner at these courses!

Step
1
Course for dogs
Find a dog-friendly course and book a round of golf for you and your pup. Make sure you pack water for your dog as well as for yourself. Most golf courses are simply open fields with little shade so you want to make sure your pup has plenty of ways to stay cool.
Step
2
Get comfy
Get your dog situated in the golf cart. While the course may let your pup roam a little bit around the green, they probably don’t want them running free while you play. Making the golf cart a safe and comfy spot for your dog is key to their happiness as well as your own.
Step
3
Play
When your dog is out of the cart, make sure to watch and see if they go to the bathroom. Just as in everyday life, it is important and considerate to pick up any mess your dog may make. While you play each hole, check in with your dog after every stroke to ensure they are happy and enjoying their day of golf.

Getting into prime golfing shape is something that your pup can certainly help with and something you can easily do at home - no need to leave your pup at all! While you are working your muscles to improve your game, your dog will be getting in some great exercise and having fun playing with you as well.

Step

Run together
Grab your dog's leash and collar and head out for a nice run around the block. Start off slow when you bring your dog for runs as getting them adjusted to the pace and the distance is very important. Running will help improve your stamina which is essential to your gold game.
Step
2
Hoop hop
Set up a few hoops on the floor inside or outside of your house. Keep the hoops close together to make it easy for your dog to jump from one to the next. Start at the first hoop with your dog and jump with two feet into each hoop. Have your dog do the same by calling them to follow your or using treats as incentives. This is a leg work out you will surely feel the next day!
Step
