Often described as a smaller version of the standard Bull Terrier, the Miniature Bull Terrier packs a great deal of personality and toughness into their tiny bodies. This breed is silly and fun-loving; they are also quite courageous, and they are often described as not knowing their true size. This athletic pooch requires a moderate amount of exercise in order to remain happy and healthy. The Miniature Bull Terrier was originally developed as a ratter; today they are generally companion dogs.

The Miniature Bull Terrier requires a great deal of daily physical activity, and walking is typically the best exercise for any dog. Walking need not be a boring activity! Some owners actually mix the walk with a jog or run. The Miniature Bull Terrier has a great deal of stamina and can accompany you on long walks or on a sprint. Many Miniature Bull Terrier owners attest that their Mini Bull can walk well over a mile each day. Some owners split their walks into two long strolls per day. Others walk in the morning and engage in other activities for afternoon exercise.

Warm up
Some Miniature Bull Terrier owners take about ten minutes prior to any strenuous exercise to walk briskly as a form of activity. Many Mini Bull owners walk their pooches an average of two miles per day. Some walk three miles. While many bulldog breeds cannot endure a great deal of activity, the Mini Bull does not have the brachycephalic nose that can inhibit breathing should they become overexerted.

The Mini Bull has great endurance, but that does not mean that you should throw caution to the wind. Always come prepared with extra bottled water during hot and humid weather. Also, during cooler weather, you may need to outfit your Mini Bull with a sweater or other protective coat. Be sure that the pup's paw pads do not become cracked while walking on asphalt or concrete.

The Mini Bull has one advantage in that they do not require a lot of room indoors. Some days, a walk around the perimeter of your property is all you need to provide adequate activity.
