Introduction
Puggles are just too cute; aside from their adorable and incredibly punny names, Puggles combine the most adorable features of a Pug and a Beagle into one floppy eared, perpetually pouting pup! As is the case with many of the Designer dog breeds that we've featured on the website, Puggles are relatively new dogs on the block. In fact, they've only been around for about 2 decades as opposed to the centuries other dog breeds have been around for. Nevertheless, Puggles are endearing breeds with charming personalities and lots of energy. Below, we've listed a few activities that you and your Puggle can try out together,

Activity description
Pugs and Beagles have an inborn drive to chase things down, capture them, and then bring them back to their masters more than most dogs do. As far as the Beagle is concerned, this is because this specific breed was created for the express purpose of helping humans hunt down various animals back in the 1800's. The instinct that causes animals to chase after certain things, or even after other animals, is referred to as a "prey drive" and both Pugs and Beagles have fairly strong prey drives. As a result, Puggles have fairly strong prey drives as well. A game of Chase can put your Puggle's prey drive to use and help them stay in shape.

The tools of the trade
Unlike a game of Tug of War, a game of Chase is meant to play on your Puggle's prey drive in order to coax them into giving chase. The Puggle isn't really supposed to bite or tug on the rope that much, but be sure to get a sturdy rope that can take some punishment just in case. Also make certain to get a rope without any chemicals on it, in case your dog touches the rope with their tongue.

Pick the right bait
A game of Chase is kind of like fishing on land in way, only the fish in question is your Puggle and your goal should be to keep them chasing the bait as long as possible. So get your dog's favorite toy, tie it around one end of the rope, and get ready to put your legs to work.

Let's give chase
After completing the first two steps, you and your dog will be ready to give Chase a try; hold the rope with the toy attached behind yourself and try to move at a pace that's not too fast or too slow for your dog. After enough time has passed, let your Puggle catch the bait and play with their toy for a bit.

Activity description
Despite what the old adage says, you can teach an old dog a new trick. While it might be easier to teach a young pup how to sit, stay, shake someone's hand, or even do a back flip, an older dog that's in good physical and mental health can learn to perform tricks on command if trained properly. The best part of this activity is that it allows dogs and their caretakers to bond with one another in a fairly unconventional yet poignant way. Teaching your dog to respond to commands is also one of the core tenants of obedience training, so if your Puggle can learn a trick they can likely complete an obedience training course with ease.

Teach your dog to sit
This classic trick takes a bit of time, your dog's favorite treat, and a lot of patience to get down pat, but you and your Puggle will feel proud once you pull it off; get your Puggle's favorite treat, hold it above their head, and slowly raise it into the air after saying sit. Your dog will likely assume a sitting position while staring at the treat, achieving the end result. Repeat this step again and again until your Puggle can pull it off perfectly, and be sure to praise and reward them each time.

Train Your dog to come
This next trick is important to ensure that your dog knows when you want them to come to your side, as well as the verbal and visual cues for the command; squat down in front of your dog's field of vision and say "come" with your arms held open. Repeat this until your dog begins to walk towards you, and reward them with praise.

Help your Puggle lay down
To pull off this trick, start by sitting to the right of your dog. Place one of your hands on your dog's back and the other behind your pet's front legs. Say "down" while slowly pushing your dogs back down towards the ground while moving their front legs forward to help them lay down. As with the other two tricks, praise and encourage your dog all the while.

Both Pugs and Beagles are some of the most social dog breeds out there. Naturally, the Puggle, being the offspring of both aforementioned breeds, is something of a social butterfly themself. While this activity may not be the most physically strenuous trial on this list, we feel that it's very important for Puggle owners to make helping their pet socialize with others a top priority; in general socialization training is paramount to ensuring the happiness of any dog breed, but the cute appearance of the Puggle means that more people try to interact with these kinds of dogs on a regular basis.

Finding the right place
No matter where you live, there are likely a number of parks that are open to the public all throughout the year. However, a large number of these parks may not even allow dogs to enter the premises let alone have any toys to accommodate a puppy. Use whatever resources are available to you to find a dog-friendly park in your area.

Finding the right time
The goal of this activity is to help your dog socialize with other dogs and humans. Therefore, you two will need to visit the dog park at a time when it's likely to be very busy and filled with other dogs and dog owners. More often than not, this time is around noon but this sort of thing tends to vary from park to park.

Making connections
People often learn new skills when they're properly motivated and encouraged. The same thing goes for dogs; remain calm and collected as your dog learns to interact with other dogs and be friendly if your dog tries to interact with another; who knows, maybe you'll end up making a new friend just as your dog does the same.

With this activity, we're not suggesting that you try to unearth some long-forgotten prize from the bottom of the ocean or from deep underground; Treasure Hunting, in the sense of this activity, refers to the activity of burying a favorite object of your Puggle's in sand or dirt and then encouraging your pet to find it and dig it up.
Food Puzzles
Food puzzles are neat little games that involve placing your Puggle's food in some sort of dog-safe contraption and then encouraging them to use their sense of smell and intuition to figure out how they can retrieve their treats from the puzzle. Pugs and Beagles are dogs who need mental stimulation, and Puggles are no different.
