He is very stubborn and very, very smart. He has learned things by watching us such as opening doors! He loves to chew, so we have to put everything up. He's like having a perpetual 2 year old. He does have separation anxiety, although he is getting better unless we are late.

Great dog overall when it recieves enough attention and exercise. Adopted him (paco) at about 7 years of age with a list of bad habits. Some habits were trained out and some remain. Doesnt do well left alone, which i believe to be a common breed trait that was enhanced by the environment of his first home. SEventually accepted some of his troublesome traits overtime as i realized hes well into his middle-ages and hes put in plenty of years of work already and earned his rank of an elder. I hope to make his second half of life to be similar to retirement, full of whatever his heart desires. My biggest hurdles caring for this dog are 1: We live in very cold weather for large part of the year and so finding good, durable, and functioning cold weather protection. 2: Reducing his separation anxiety, never met or hrard of a dog the crys as much as paco. 3: curving his barking at what seems sometimes to be nothing at all, and his agressive attitude when introduced to new dogs. He always acts tough even with animals he has met before or known for awhile. Tends to act out more to breeds larger than him.

She's an amazing dog, always loveable and enjoys playing with the kids, or going hiking or swimming with family.

Our sweet Sophie was a rescue dog from the pound, she was only 4lbs when we got her. While she loves my husband, she really took up with me. Where ever I go she’s always beside me. She has became the perfect family dog, she’s super great with our toddler and babies. Sophie was VERY hyper when we first got her, now that she’s getting older she’s calming down a bunch. Ultimately I would recommend a Jack-A-Bee for anyone wanting a loving, loyal, playful companion. She has such a personality and is honestly the sweetest dog we have ever owned.

Barkley is my little best friend. He's always with me and by my side. He can run free n I can trust him to never run away. He's extremely loyal and a very good listener most of the time. Unless there's a rodent to chase.. so a bit of impulse control problems but he never goes too far. He's extremely smart, loving, LOYAL, loves playing and can handle anything children throw at him while still wagging his tail with joy! He's great w strangers or crowded places. He is territorial tho and even tho he's small he acts as alpha. He's also very protective and can bark often. But I think he's an angel and the best thing to happen to me! He keeps me feeling safe yet he's friendly n doesn't ever bite or show teeth unless someone were to attack me. Which has happened and he barked ran jumped up nbit onto their arm n didn't stop till they were gone. Great dog to have n highly recommend to anyone who has the time and desire.

Our girl has the best temperament. Always wants to cuddle or give you a kiss. Great with kids and other dogs, has never shown any aggression. A slight cough potato as she is overweight due to hypothyroidism. Loves going for walks and riding in the car. Very well behaved until she gets on the scent of something good then she becomes deaf!

Still in training process to keep from nipping and jumping on people. Otherwise he is very lovable and territorial.

Our beautiful boy is absolutely a pivotal part of our family along with our other dog Trevor (Jack Russell) (and my two children!). Love him to bits but will say the shedding.... lots and constant x

Wonderful! Affectionate, amusing, intelligent and all around fun. We just love her. Downsides: Runner, jumper, and digger. She's very mouthy (everything goes in her mouth - hence the nickname "Chewy). And she's very needy. Love her though!

Our little girl is so sweet and patient with our young son. They are the best of friends. She is however, a talented escape artist, especially if she is on the trail of another animal. We have to make sure to have her in a body harness for walks, otherwise she will slip right out her collar if she sees a rabbit or a squirrel or another dog. She is constantly with us, extremely loyal, and gets along well with our elderly cats (who are quite cranky). She is a great dog, wonderful with children, but beware, very fast and very determined to capture anything or everything she sniffs out.

I rescued Bailey from Grand Baie She nearly got run over.There are many dogs in Mauritius that need help. Especially with neutering. Unfortunately the animal centre P.A.W.S has very little money. No one wanted her because she is female and they have many many litters. Flew her back with me to Malaga, Spain. She is a lovely dog and very happy!

Coro is a loving, cuddly dog with lots of energy. He loves walks through wooded areas so he can sniff out the squirrels and deer and other animals. He was house trained by 7 weeks and leash and command trained by 6 months. He does have some stubbornness with Heal and Come since everything catches his attention. He is tall at 15" and long at 20".

I became Jace's mother purely by chance and I could not have been luckier! Jace was severely neglected, underfed, exhausted, and was only subject to attention by the young kids and toddlers who abused him unknowingly. The woman who owned him left him for dead at her old apt. after being evicted.. and this little resilient dog lived off the land for over 2 years w/o human interaction!! After which,she ended up with him again (despite trying to drive him 30min away to leave him on the side of the road only to have him find his way back) and not once did Jace ever receive actual dog food (junk food scraps only), vet care, or even a bath. This vile woman asked my roommate to dog sit for Jace and a Chihuahua she owned for a couple weeks and from the moment he cowered thru my door,I knew he was going to be my world. I told her the next day that she was no longer Jace's owner and she's lucky I didn't call the police for animal abuse. Since that day he's saved me as much as I've saved him. I will never know how old he is and I will due my best to care for the health issues he's acquired by lack of care (I'm recently laid off and cannot afford the vet care I desperately need to give him) and I read stories of all your wonderful energetic Jackabees as I glance down at Jace curled up on/beside me and wonder if he was once the same way before life was cruel and exhausting to him. He's by far the most intelligent dog and I don't just mean in terms of repetitive tricks but truly brilliant and is eternally assessing, processing, and calculating every move he makes based on his surroundings. He is a lover and extremely affectionate but still slightly (& understandably) timid. He is only at peace & is able to fully relax with me and I cannot fault him for this. His only years on this planet were either complete loneliness or utter abuse/neglect.. So, the fact that he is able to show trust and love towards humans at all shows how pure and sweet this breed really is. Although I am unemployed, I always put Jace's care 1st and would sacrifice anything necessary. If you are able to bless your life with a Jackabees, I promise you wont be disappointed. The minds and hearts of this breed are unmatched.

My experience with Henry has been amazing. In the few months I've had him he's learned so much and continues to impress me. House training has been a breeze , and he caught on very quickly to his name and what "no" means. He's very high energy and loves to run around and sniff everything. He makes a great house dog. He requires a lot of toys to keep him busy, bones to chew on, and regular brushing!

It is a beautiful and wonderful learning experience. I wouldn't trade it for the world

Highly active loves socialising with both children and dogs. Down side chews anything chairs, shoes, headsets etc we keep plenty of chews and chew toys around to distract. Very loyal and loving doesn't like being separated from me for any length of time.

our beagle & terrier got caught on accident, blessing my family with a litter of beautiful jackabee pups. Iris came into my life at just the right time. She is so lovable and caring, i almost like to think she can understand me too. i always talk to her and she seems to know what i mean. we dance around in my room to music, i give her rawhide chewies that she just LOVES to hide and she brings them out to show people her goodies like, 'look what i have, human!' I think her favorite seasons are summer & winter, moreso winter, because she just loses it when i let her outside! She frolics like its the first time shes been there, throwing snow around with her face. she likes to 'suffocate' me when i lay down for bed, she lays on me and shoves her face onto mine. she is very cuddly and loves her tummy rubbed. if her butt needs itched she will let you know! she will 'talk' just like a husky if you talk to her. she never lets me be by myself, she is always at my heels and i am so grateful. she helps stop my mental breakdowns when they begin, she is able to help calm me down before i become destructive and im so grateful that she can sense it. she can always sense when im having an off day and gives me extra love. i am so grateful and blessed that i have her, she is my savior. she gives me a purpose to wake up every day and be better for her, and me.

She is so sweet. She loves everyone and is super smart. Can jump over our couch. No gate could hold her... thankfully we don't need one. She's not a big fan of the crate but we are still working with her. She's only been with us a couple weeks.

Have only had her for about 3 weeks but she is super sweet, and is totally fine sleeping in the crate all night. Seems very intelligent, but decides when she wants to listen to our commands. Nose to the ground for an entire walk. Doesn't seem particulary motivated by treats. Gets nippy with us at night if she hasnt had enough exercise. Great dog. We were told she was a Beagle but even without a dna test we're pretty sure she's a Jack-a-bee!

It has been cold here so he doesnt like to go out. Trying to find things to do inside to work off energy. He is super friendly and likes all of us. If one of us leaves when we return he will greet us with a wagging tail. Do have to get on to him for jumping or trying to dig up carpet, he also likes to chew on cords. He doesnt like to sleep in crate he will whine and howl when we put him in it.

He is very sociable with people and other dogs

Hunter is very much a watch dog and barks when a leaf falls in front of the house. It's hard to get him to stop at times. He's good with cats and kids and his bark is definitely worse than his bite. He's very vocal - he doesn't go long at all without moaning, barking, whimpering, etc.

We love Toby Joe so much and he is very loyal and affectionate! He is a great family dog!!!

My husband and I have a beagle. His father has a J.R. Terrier. We have wondered what their puppies would have looked like but both dogs are fixed. Then one day while on Facebook I saw that someone local had a Jackabee female, who had bred with a J.R. Terrier and had 16 puppies, 4 of which didn't make it and 1 of which is a runt. Her owner had decided to keep 4 and give some away to family, leaving 2 males and 2 females. I wish sometimes that I could have afforded two. Artemis has boundless energy and is very responsive, both to training and when I am hurt or tired. True to her nature, she is inquisitive, friendly and an excellent family pup!

We had mom (Beagle) and Dad (Jack Russell) who were great parents. They had 2 healthy litters of a total of 12 pups. Heart (named because of a shape of a heart just above her tail)is the only one we kept due to our son claiming her when she was born (no one choose her) So we kept her. She is 12 years old very healthy although she did give us a little scare a couple years ago with a pancreatitis diagnosis. She's doing great now. She is very loving, loves us greatly and is very smart. Her eyes say so much. She is very adaptable to other dogs and loves to go walking. She is very persistent when she wants attention or to eat. See did loose both her parents within 2 years, they both lived a full life of 15 and 16 years. They were our three amigos and all got along very well. We have to say, she is a perfect mix of mom and dad and couldn't see us with another breed after having all 3 of them. Although she did loose both her parents that she was very close to, she didn't go through depression because we allowed her to draw closer to us and us to her.

I adopted Dude from the shelter when he was 8 years old. He was slow to warm up but once he did, he bonded fast. As time went on he became more playful and comfortable. He does have persistent environmental allergies and ear infections.

Cosmo is my first puppy, but he's perfect, he has bursts of energy for about an hour or so then he just falls asleep, he's so friendly, a little stubborn but very smart. loves to play and go on walks. i take him for car rides into town and some stores such as hobby lobby and bass pro. he doesn't like to be left alone for long. but he's overall a perfect puppy.

Roscoe loves to play with people and little dogs but he will attack a large and i mean large ie pitbulls without hesitation otherwise he is very sweet

I love my little Lady! She is pretty high maintenance though. She is on a tie out when we are outside and if you walk away for a second she will slip her collar off. When she slips her collar she likes to run to our neighbor's house where her best puppy friend lives. She chews on anything she can (I have caught her chewing the wood floors and dining room chairs). She is really good with other animals, but she can get carried away and way too aggressive. I have family members that aren't happy about her high energy but I think she will start to mellow out.

Alittle stubborn and destructive as a puppy. But as shes aged she has become very obedient, comes when shes called. Walks good on a leash. Very affectionate and good with kids. Loves literally everyone. Doesnt care much for female dogs but is excellent with male and cats. Still has some issues with urinating in the house and has some anxiety issues

She is smart, strong, fast and can jump high but doesn’t like water

Very smart and stubborn dog, but absolutely hates water. Bath time is a struggle for sure. As is nail clipping.

Our Jackabee is full of beans! She’s excellent with our children and affectionate. On walks she barks a lot at vehicles and people! We’d be happier if she wouldn’t bark at people whilst on walks! Sometimes it seems like this little cute dog would like to rip someone’s head off, this concerns me somewhat!

Her name is Rebel and she surely lives up to her name. She is mischievous and extremely active, but such a sweetheart who adores her big sister and cuddling on the couch. She whines a lot when she wants something, we say that she “bullies” us into letting her outside or feeding her early. She’s quite the character and life is never boring with her.

He is active then restful. Noting in between. 0-60 in split second. He will also hide any biscuit snack he gets, and will carry it around whining until he finds a suitable hiding spot. This dog is tremendous!

Barney is a wonderful, smart dog. He loves to be with me and my husband. If one of us goes out of the room he searches for us. He likes to travel with us in our RV. He loves to go for walks daily. He walks about a mile in the morning and 1/2 mile in the evening and we walk him 7 days a week. He is in relatively good health although he was diagnosed with a heart problem 1 & 1/2 years ago. He is currently on heart medication that has been working well, he has not had any other health problems prior to this diagnosis. He was rescued by my Dad from a neglect situation when he was almost a year old. We couldn’t have asked for a better boy!

Charlie is so far an amazing dog! He’s currently in biting stage, but he’ll grow out of that. He’s been okay at training, but he gets distracted easily.

My Jack-A-Bee is extremely smart and extremely easy to train. He likes sleeping under the covers while curled in a little ball next to anything that provides body heat. He is very sweet and sociable as well - he likes to meet other dogs and play with them regardless of them being large or small.

I got Blue from the SPCA a little over a year ago. She is 7 years old and is super sweet and snuggly. She loves taking walks and sleeping in my lap. She is very friendly and usually obeys commands. She's not as food driven as my full beagle. She is a wonderful companion and is very friendly and curious. She is also afraid of loud noises.

I adopted Daisy from a no kill shelter. Very aggressive and was afraid she'd never warm up to me but she did after 3 days. She is very skittish around humans but is fine if you just let her be and sniff around, then she'll bare her belly for a rub. She loves most other dogs. She loves jumping 5ft in the air. She ran away when I was out of town and she was afraid of the dog walker. Eventually came home when it started raining but I was scared for her. Got a GPS tracker but she's never run away again. She's great on walks and such a cuddler. I just love her. Best Pandemic buddy ever!

We have had Peanut for a month. He loves playing fetch and running at the dog park. He is very excitable during the day and takes a little time to calm down in the evening. He loves cuddling up in a ball under the covers with us. The closer to our body heat he can get, the happier he is. He also enjoys being by himself at times. If I have the day off, he’ll play for a while and then trot off to do his own thing. He absolutely loves walks and winters when we have to leave for work. I try to take him with me to as many places as I can so that he isn’t home alone for too long.

Noel just turned 9 on Christmas 2020 (hence the name) she’s been a great dog for us. She battled parvo as a pup and came out unscathed. She’s really attached to my wife but she’s always very pleasant to our family. She’s a howler lol but we don’t mind it as she only does it very infrequently and it when she’s wanting something. She’s great in the cold and heat. She doesn’t mind being bathed. Gets along with other animals for the most part just as long as they don’t go buy her food bowl when she’s eating. We have other dogs and cats and she’s rarely ever bothered by then and never aggressive towards them. She loves to sleep and cuddle. Doesn’t really enjoy being in the car to be honest. She’s very loyal and she listens like a soldier. And she has a nose like a black bear. Overall she’s been a great dog with almost zero health problems, I contribute that directly to exercise and not eating human food.

shes the best dog, the jack a bee is a great breed that lives a long time, is a high energy dog, but if you give them at least one house to run around off leash they will have better behavior, we visit the dog park daily.

Rescued my sweet girl a little over 6 months ago and have continued to fall in love. She is very stubborn and VERY vocal. She’s full of energy and loves to play but also loves the occasional nap day. She wasn’t properly socialized before coming home with me so she isn’t a fan of other dogs. She loves people and will express her excitement loudly but as soon as she’s close enough, she smothers you in love. She does tend to have issues when left alone which has been a bit of a struggle. We have worked on training and while she tends to get distracted easily or shows her stubborn side, she also has made amazing strides and is just a joy to be around. She is the sweetest dog who loves nothing more than curling up under the covers every night. We also tend to travel together quite a bit and she LOVES the car but can get anxious when sitting still for long periods of time. I’m so excited for many more years of love and adventure with my girl.

Murphy was a rescue he adapted very well to our immediate family does not warm up to strangers very well. But super loving to us!

We bought her from a farm who owned the mom and dad. Mom is a mix of beagle and Jack russell and dad is a jack Russell. She is very crazy fast and gets very excited when someone comes home or to visit. She is so much fun. She likes to chase the chipmunks around the house. She gets along great with my sister in laws cats. My main concern or problem is her bathroom going. You can have her out for over an hour and she will come inside and poop and pee right away. It doesn't matter the amount of time she is outside she will come back in and do her business. She sheds ALOT! She's very loving and affectionate.

We adopted him from the humane society in 2020 2 years ago. One of the best dogs I've ever had. He was very nervous at first but has truly come into his own. Surprisingly really lazy. Like he gets super excited for a whole 10 minutes outside before he is over it. He's the perfect weight for his breed and very muscular, just a lazy guy lol. He loves blankets and cuddling under them. Anywhere I sit he is snuggled next to me sticking his nose in the blanket trying to get under. I have worked from home since we got him so we're always together. Very smart and a fast learner. It took us 30 minutes to help him understand the button speaking process and now he tells me when he wants pets, cuddles, walks, or a treat. Very treat motivated. He loves the dog park, mostly for the people there. He's been around very small children and was very tolerant of the ear and tail pulling and super sweet to kids. He has never been food aggressive. He does get frequent yeast infections in his paws and ears so I give him bi-weekly baths with a medicated shampoo. If it's bad enough it's every week. Seriously the most tolerant, sweet, and smart dog I've had this far. When he adopted him he was already fully grown so I was nervous about previous tendencies, but it seems he was mostly neglected, so all he needed was some love and guidance to be a wonderful dog. 10/10 recommend a jackabee for apartment livers

I got Cooper when he was 11 months old. He's been one of the best dogs I've ever had! He's very affectionate and loves to be wherever I go. He does have mild separation anxiety, but since I got him he has gotten a lot better. He hates baths. His biggest issue is that he has allergies and needs medication for it, but overall he's an amazing dog!
