Mini Australian Shepterrier

The Mini Australian Shepterrier is a new hybrid that has only recently become popular. As such, the history of the Mini Australian Shepterrier is not yet in the history books so looking to the parents will be the best way for familiarizing yourself with your new pet. The Mini Australian Shepterrier is currently only recognized by the American Canine Hybrid Club, Designer Dogs Kennel Club and the Dog Registry of America. Based on their area of recognition it can be speculated these designer breeds may have likely originated from the United States within the last decade. The intelligent Miniature Australian Shepherd is a relatively new breed that was founded in the 1960s in California. These breeds seem to have been created through the outcrossing of the Australian Shepherd with various other small breed dogs, resulting in a small miniature version of an Australian Shepherd. As this breed shares common ancestry with the Basque Shepherd and the Australian Shepherd, they are widely recognized as an excellent herding dog. The Australian Shepherd originated in the United States during the Gold Rush. The Australian Shepherd Club of America was formed in 1957 and this breed joined the American Kennel Club's roster in 1993. Despite its small size, the Australian Terrier was considered a courageous little dog that was believed to have been a native to Tasmania. These spunky little dogs were first traced back to the 1800s and share common ancestry with the Dandie Dinmont, Skye Terrier, Yorkshire Terrier, Manchester Terrier and Yorkshire Terrier. Owners will definitely see that their hybrid will have a strong drive to please their owners through herding or hunting small vermin much like their parent breeds, as well as being a faithful companion.
