So Ugly It’s Cute: Wag! and Tipsy Elves Partner for Your Dog’s Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest

Los Angeles, CA — December 3, 2018 – With nearly 80 percent of pet parents including their dog in holiday traditions*, the ugly Christmas sweater was bound to go to the dogs at some point. On-demand dog walking app, Wag!, has partnered with holiday-themed apparel company, Tipsy Elves, for Your Dog’s Ugly Christmas Sweater Contest.

With a chance to win one of three prize packages, pet parents are encouraged to enter a picture of their dog (with or without their humans) in the ugliest holiday sweater from December 3 through December 16. Add props, include family members, and go the extra mile to get the ugliest dog sweater photo possible. Public voting from December 17 to December 20 will decide who will be crowned king or queen of tacky tassels, colored pom poms and outrageous patterns just in time for National Ugly Christmas Sweater Day on December 21. The grand prize winner will receive $500 in Wag! Credits, a $500 Tipsy Elves gift card and a $250 dog gift bag.

Adding pets to the ugly sweater fun isn’t the only thing dog parents are planning to do with their pets during the holidays. An independent survey of 2,000 dog parents commissioned by Wag!* revealed:

• 70 percent of respondents plan to buy their dog a holiday gift

• Almost 40 percent will take pets along during holiday travel

• Close to half will allow Fido to jump into the bed with them this season

• One third will turn to professional groomers to ensure dogs are looking extra festive this time of year
