Under the protection of shady trees, a flat trail makes its way around Lake Wilson in the center of the park. Dogs are free to explore to their little hearts’ content. Even the lake is open for dogs to swim in! The little park, located just a few minutes from downtown Springdale in Fayetteville, is known for being quiet, even on the weekends, with wildflowers popping up everywhere. At 2 miles, the trail is just long enough to get the blood pumping, but not long enough to think about eating squirrels. Well, that’s probably true for humans; dogs, maybe not so much!

If your pup is more of the free-range variety, there’s plenty of space for that, too, at the Bentonville Bark Park. Entirely fenced in, this park offers an agility course, small dog area, and large dog area, all dogs will feel right at home regardless of their track time or waistline. Pack a water bowl and fill up at the gate before entering the park. Once all the tricks have been learned, follow the trail that connects the park to main city areas. It may just lead you home.

Northwest of the city center, JB Hunt Park is a beautiful park with tons of fun to be had. With playgrounds, swings, softball fields, a concession stand, disc golf, a pump track, and fishing, you and your dog will have so much to do together. Did you know, the park’s daily limit on trout is five? If you really want to get your dogs excited about fishing, tell them they can catch up to three catfish. They’ll be bream-ing ear to ear with every catch. Follow the 0.79-mile paved trail along Lake Springdale and all the way around the park. Pavilions are available for rent at $12.50 an hour. With over 200 acres to play on at this conveniently located park, JB Hunt Park will have you hunting for adventures every weekend!

Sometimes, we all just need a break. Maybe it’s a break from the daily grind, or a break from sleeping on the living room carpet 18 hours a day. Bobby Hopper Park is the perfect place to get out and stretch your legs on your lunch break. Located smack-dab in the middle of Springdale, it’s a quick hop from all sides of town. A glorious vision of all the suburbia, there are large grassy areas, two soccer fields, and a fenced playground with swings. Originally opened in the 1980s, this park dates back to the time of black denim and poodle perms. It reopened in fall of 2016 after some major renovations were completed, thanks to grant money. The soccer fields took the place of softball fields and the restrooms and picnic areas have been renovated. Those are you tax dollars at work, Springdalers. Go play! And don’t forget the dog (and leash).

Hey dogs! Have you heard? Dog Party USA is the hottest rager in town! It’s so hopping and jumping that it’s happening every day of the week. They’re just that hardcore. Unlike exclusive groups from your college years, the dogs at this club won’t judge you by the shape of your muzzle and won’t ask what brand your collar is. They’re just a really loving bunch that likes to get down in Tontitown. And have we mentioned their grass? They have the best grass - real, authentic, fresh out of the ground. Ah, it’s so good! You can just roll around all day looking at the clouds until it’s time to go home. Everybody’s saying they go home and sleep for three days because they’re just so worn out, but that it was amazing and totally worth it. You should check it out! It’s off Maestri Street in Springdale.
