This park is located in South Lake Forest, which is around 13 miles from Gurnee. This fully fenced, off-leash dog park provides 44 acres for dogs to run, romp, and play. Although there isn't a separate area for small dogs, there are two separate training areas where you can play with or train a timid or shy pup. The park even has a lake that is outside of the fenced area, but you can lift the fence and let your dog swim and splash in the pond!

Another 44-acre park that you can visit for making some great memories with your pup is the Beck Lake Dog Park. This park is a little bit further than the previous one -- at around 26 miles away from Gurnee. The park is rich with wide fields where your pup can stretch his legs, trails, and training enclosures. Water and waste stations are both available here, so all you have to bring is lots of energy. The best part of the park is the pond where your dog can swim and socialize. You'll need to obtain a membership in order to enter the park.

The beach is located around 14 miles away from Gurnee and is situated in the Fort Sheridan neighborhood of Highland Park.
