Eight miles north of Springfield Garden is the neighborhood of Cunningham Park, in the Fresh Meadows area of Queens. The neighborhood is named after the large park that is located here, Cunningham Park, and provides 50 acres of forests, open space, and recreational fields to use. The park is dog-friendly, although dogs do need to stay on a leash. You can enjoy the enclosed baseball fields, nature paths, concrete walkways, soccer fields, a playground, restrooms, picnic areas, barbeque facilities, a pavilion, and enclosed tennis courts. Whether going for a lengthy walk or looking for somewhere to play, Cunningham Park will provide that and additional features like clean-up stations, water fountains, benches, and nighttime lights.

Jamaica
The central neighborhood of Jamaica is named after the the area of Queens it is in, and is 2.5 miles north of Springfield Gardens. Dog walkers from inside and outside of the town head to Saint Albans Memorial Park, thanks to its well-kept grassy terrain, looping paved walkway, surrounding trees for shade and privacy, and quiet picnic area. Leashed dogs will have plenty of room to run around and play or go for a walk, with access to water fountains, benches, and clean-up stations. The Detective Keith L. Williams Park another great place to walk Fido, thanks to its paved walkway, shaded green space, and dog-friendly fenced-in tennis courts. Fido has to remain on a leash inside this park.

Locust Manor
Locust Manor is a suburban community inside the city limits of Jamaica, just 1.6 miles north of Springfield Gardens. The neighborhood is home to some of the most beautiful parks in the neighborhood, including Roy Wilkins Park, which has over 20 acres of land dedicated to recreational fields, open space, natural forests, and miles of paved trails. Dogs can enjoy the park while on a leash, and have access to additional features like water fountains, benches, clean-up stations, and nighttime lights. Railroad Park is another park in the neighborhood that has a larger area of land with thick trees, open fields, a playground, and nature trails. Don't forget to bring water and clean-up bags to this park!

Rochdale
The small neighborhood of Rochdale is in Jamaica, 1.4 miles northwest of Springfield Gardens. Although small, the park has one pretty big park known as Baisley Pond Park that features over 15 acres of green space surrounding Baisley Pond. There is a small boat launch and fishing pier for park goers, connected by over 2.3 miles of paved trails that encircle the pond. Additional features of the dog-friendly area include a playground, baseball fields, picnic shelters, a gazebo, water fountains, benches, clean-up stations, and trash bins. If you plan on staying in the neighborhood, head over tot he Garden Inn and Suites. There is a limit of two dogs with no weight limit for a small fee per night.

Springfield Gardens
This small town offers plenty of great parks, like Montbellier Park. The park is a long strip of land with a soccer field, enclosed tennis courts, a small open space, a playground, restrooms, and paved walkways. Additional amenities you can enjoy here include water fountains, benches, and clean-up stations. South of Montbellier Park is a public soccer and baseball field with no name, but that offers some open space around the fields that are dog-friendly and provides a better space for Fido to run around and play. Dogs must be on a leash at both areas.
