Greggsville is a rural northern community next to the Ohio River, known for its large resort surrounded by thick forests. The resort is called Oglebay Resort, and although facilities are off-limits to pets, they provide pet-friendly cottages to stay at for a fee and a public park known as Olgebay Park. The park is open to residents and visitors to enjoy for free. Inside the park, there is an extensive network of natural trails, paved walkways, and open space to play in with your pup. Recreational areas include enclosed tennis courts, a playground, restrooms, water fountains, and picnic area to relax and barbeque in. Dogs can run around in the open space and enjoy the 3.4 miles of trails, but must remain on a leash while inside the park.

Edgewood is a residential city on the northeast side of town that features packed rows of homes. The neighborhood is also home to Edgewood Park that provides residents with a nice place to play, run, and walk your pooch. Central Wheeling is a bustling neighborhood with shopfronts and small businesses on the shore of Ohio River. Wheeling Island

Wheeling Island is a small residential island in the middle of the Ohio River. The area's best park is the Bridge Street Park, located right on the shore of the Ohio River, and backed by trees with multiple fields and open space. There are two fenced-in baseball fields, a pool, and a basketball court. Dogs visiting the park can play in the fields as long as no teams are playing, or can run around in the open space, walk on the paved trails or enjoy features like water fountains, trash bins, nighttime lights, and clean-up stations. On the north tip of the island is a small recreational park with no name, but features a basketball court, fenced-in baseball field, and a playground surrounded by trees. Bethlehem Estates is a rural neighborhood on the south side of town, with some rows of residential homes surrounded by dense forests. The Bethlehem Comunity Park is the park of choice for community residents that provides plenty for humans and pups alike.
