Galveston Island is well-known for its 32 miles of beach-riddled land, but Stewart Beach stands out as a unique find on the isle for dog owners because of its pet-friendly nature. The beach welcomes you and your pooch with open arms, giving you the chance to explore the sandy island shores while gazing out at the beautiful waters that fill the Gulf of Mexico.

On the beach, you and your pup are greeted by a variety of amenities including concession stands, showers, washroom facilities, gift-shops, beach volleyball courts, as well as chair and umbrella rentals. Not to mention, if you have kids, trained lifeguards are on duty during the hours of operation, granting you some peace of mind while you watch your pooch and children play. If you're looking to have your own picnic with your pal, feel free to bring a personal BBQ, but avoid open fires and alcohol.

The only dog regulations set in place include keeping your four-legged friend on their leash and under control at all times, and of course, cleaning up after your animal using personal dog bags. Garbage cans are available for your convenience and pet waste disposal. Also, one off-limit area on the beach is the Dunes because of their fragility, so be mindful of these areas when taking walks along the beach.
