Ant-Man Inspired Dog Names

There are actually quite a few dogs in the Marvel Universe who've had prominent roles in various stories throughout the company's 60+ years in business. Our featured dog for this article isn't one of those dogs, though we'll talk about a few of them in a bit, but that doesn't mean that Yogi isn't special in his own way. You see, Yogi is a Shih-Tzu mix who became an internet sensation when a photo they were featured in starting making the rounds across the internet. To a surprisingly large out amount people out there, Yogi's face seemingly resembled that of Ant-Man actor Paul Rudd's. This lead to flood of images popping up all over the place which compare the comedian to Yogi via a side by side layout. Paul Rudd has purportedly taken the jokes in stride, finding the strange comparison rather amusing and taking the chance to crack a few jokes himself.

While Yogi's special ability may be looking strangely human, a number of the other dogs that have ties to Ant-Man have powers that are a bit more, well, super. Take Cosmo the Spacedog for example. This Russian dog is actually a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, as well as a former Soviet Spacedog who was sent into the Final Frontier many years ago. Cosmo has all sorts of crazy abilities; he has telekinesis   (this dog can move things with his mind), telepathy (as in Cosmo can communicate with people using his brain), and has lifespan many times that of an average dog's. For those of you who don't know, Ant-Man has joined up with the Guardians of Galaxy in the Marvel Comics Universe - with Scott Lang having been granted full membership as of the time of this writing. 

Aside from Cosmo, the Ant-Man has also made the acquaintance of Lockjaw - the faithful dog of the Inhuman's  royal family. Despite his massive size, Lockjaw is a gentle puppy at heart who has the unique ability to teleport people across vast distances almost instantly. Lockjaw was modeled after a Bulldog and possesses big old chubby cheeks to show for it. While Ant-Man and Lockjaw don't get to spend that much time with another on a regular basis, their interactions are always friendly and heartwarming whenever the two of them share a panel together. Lockjaw also holds the distinction of being the first Marvel Comics dog to grace the silver screen via a live-action format.
