If you have ever seen the movie Cats and Dogs, then you probably noticed the Saluki, Ivy. The cats and dogs both in the movie talk like humans, and are in an all-out war with each other! This animal-talking comedy is all about a secret that is going on between the cats and dogs. The cats are trying to invent a medicinal solution or vaccine to make all humans allergic to dogs. This is because a researcher, Professor Brody, is actively working on a vaccine to make humans not allergic to dogs. The cats are doing their very best to sabotage it all so they can win in the end.

The Saluki in the movie, which is just gorgeous, is one of the dogs who is against the army of cats trying to take over and mess with the researcher. Susan Sarandon is the voice of Ivy the Saluki, who is actually an alley dog, even though she looks like royalty with her grace and stature. Ivy also has a great sense of humor with a dash of a sarcastic tone, which makes her seem very knowledgeable and confident.

Oliver and Company was produced in 1988 by Disney. This is the 27th film by Disney, and the animated movie was inspired by the Charles Dickens' novel Oliver Twist.

A book by Brian Patrick Duggan, Saluki: The Desert Hound and the English Travelers who Brought it to the West, was written to discuss the history of the breed in the Middle East during the days of the British Empire. The book talks about the Saluki, and how it became a noble part of other countries, as it has evolved and become a favorite pet, hunter, and even show dog. It is a great book to gather a deeper understanding of this stunning and unique breed.
