Armenian Gampr Dog Names

The protective Armenian Gampr is not found in pop culture, not because they are not an amazing dog, but just because of their rarity. We can look to other brave and protective dogs as a tribute to the strength and courage of the Armenian Gampr. Flash, for example, was discovered at an animal shelter in Everett, Washington where she was found walking the streets, abandoned and hungry. Although it is not known where she came from, where she ended up is a terrific story that needs to be shared. At nine months old, the Cattle Shepherd, which is a mix of an Australian Cattle Dog and a German Shepherd, was only 24 hours away from being euthanized due to the overcrowding of the shelter and a possible aggression issue. Luckily for Flash, she was found by someone who saw the possibility of her being a K-9 dog. 

When Flash left the Everett Animal Services, she had no idea how lucky she was, she was just happy to be out of her cage, and the aggression issue soon turned out to be a misdiagnosis because Flash was a sweet and loyal pooch. Flash was entered in a basic narcotics dog course where she did very well. In fact, she got a score of 100%, excelled in every challenge, and was the only dog ever to do that. Soon, Flash was partnered up with Jason Johnson, who was a police officer in Yakima working in the narcotics department, making the energetic pooch the first narcotics canine on the Yakima Police Department. 

Flash did not disappoint the Yakima Police because over her eight years as a narcotics dog; she had more than 2,200 narcotics finds and seizures in 3,000 deployments. But she did not just work there, she also worked with two other narcotics task forces as well as the SWAT team that was serving high-risk search warrants for drugs in the Yakima area. In addition, Jason and Flash took part in dozens of community events, local school visits, and public demonstrations. The pawpular pooch even has her own book named, “K-9 Flash Becomes a Hero” about her traveling the nation to read to kids in schools all over the world. 

Flash was also the inspiration behind the Project K-9 Hero Foundation to take care of other dogs that retire from the police force because when she retired, she had an issue getting help to pay her veterinary bills. Flash was suffering from Lyme disease from a tick bite after retiring, and that is when Jason found out that she did not get any kind of medical benefits after serving the force for so many years. So Jason started a project to help with medical bills, food, and even death benefits for the K-9 and their families. After all their sacrifices, that is the least we can do.
