Berger Blanc Suisse Dog Names

There are probably only a handful of people within the United States who truly know the history of the Berger Blanc Suisse and when seeing one, knows that they are not a White Shepherd or a White German Shepherd Dog. These dogs are rare within the United States and therefore not many people have the opportunity to be around them or learn more about them. There is one Berger Blanc Suisse that is making waves in the dog show world; his name is Ice or more formally National and International Multi-Champion Fire-and-Ice du Bois des Ternes. Ice is a French import and came home to the Dances with Wolves Ranch in California at 10 weeks old. Since arriving in sunny California, Ice has made himself at home and brought a small amount of fame to Simona and Matt, the owners of Dances with Wolves Ranch. Ice’s father, Beautiful Angel du Bois des Ternes, was the number one World Champion in 2009 and holds multiple titles in several European countries. Ice seems to be following in his sire’s paw prints by earning two championship titles, multiple herding group wins, two reserve best in show wins and a best in show win before he even turned 10 months old. Ice currently holds a UKC championship, a National and International championship through the International All Breed Canine Association (IABCA), and an ARBA championship. He has one best in show win, two reserve best in show wins, six group one wins, seven group two placements, three group three placements, 23 best of breed wins, and 23 best male wins. Aside from excelling in the conformation ring, Ice has achieved his therapy dog certification and his AKC Canine Good Citizen title. Ice was also tested and certified to have a strong herding instinct.

 Ice still resides at the Dances with Wolves Ranch in Agua Dulce, California which is located about 50 miles north of Los Angeles in the mountains. Ice watches over the ranch when he is not in the show ring or providing therapeutic support at local hospitals and nursing homes. On this ranch, there is, of course, the pack of Berger Blanc Suisse that patrol and protect the 20 acres, but there is also an odd assortment of animals including ponies, chickens, and a pot-bellied pig. Simona and Matt are firm believers in thoroughly health testing all of their Berger Blanc Suisse prior to breeding to ensure that they are producing healthy companions. While the Berger Blanc Suisse does not have the same health problems the White Shepherd and White German Shepherd Dog have, they still believe in keeping the Berger Blanc Suisse as healthy as possible and eradicating any health problems that may arise in their bloodlines.
