Biewer Terrier Dog Names

Rocky Mountain’s Sir Remington or Remi for short has been making waves at American Kennel Club shows that feature FSS breeds. Remi began his show career on October 1, 2017. During this cluster of five shows, Remi won best of breed at all five shows. Remi went on to the AKC FSS Open dog show at the Westchester Kennel Club in New Jersey for four shows. He won best of breed at all four shows; these wins gave Remi the needed points for his Certificate of Merit. A Certificate of Merit is equivalent to a recognized AKC breed’s Certificate of Championship. This beautiful Biewer Terrier was shown at the AKC FF/Open dog show in Nebraska on October 22, 2017 and he not only won best of breed, Remi also took home the top honor, Best in Show at the AKC FSS. Remi also competed against the winners of the Open show and won Best in Show of the whole AKC Open show. His owners, Michele Kathol Lyons and Lynn Meyer of Rocky Mountain Biewer Terriers, were thrilled with how well Remi was doing in the conformation show ring. Lyons is the breeder of Triple Crown Pomeranians, breeding for several years and producing several top-winning Pomeranians. Meyer is the breeder of Dzine Tibetan Terriers and also has produced multiple top-winning Tibetan Terriers. These two teamed up when they both discovered a love for the Biewer Terriers.

The IABCA or International All Breed Canine Association with the International Dog Shows was the first venue that allowed the Biewer to enter in June 2003. There were two Biewers entered, a female named Delux and a male named Decoration. These two Biewers were imported into the United States from Germany. Decoration was the first German-bred Biewer to win a championship in the United States. He was also the first Biewer to win Best in Show. Another Biewer named Quigi came onto the IABCA scene and stole the show. He quickly became a star and held the most Best in Show wins by a Biewer for several years. Since then, there have been numerous Biewers that have competed at the IABCA sanctioned shows throughout the United States and Canada. After the IABCA accepted the Biewer Terrier, the North American Kennel Club (NAKC) also allowed the Biewer to be shown in the Rarities class at their sanctioned events. The first Biewer Terrier National Specialty was hosted by the Biewer Club of America in 2004. A lovely, predominantly white female named Diana won best of breed at the first Biewer Terrier National Specialty.
