School children rescued Little White Socks from a hard life on the street as a stray. They provided the canine with a job at the school as the respected guard dog. Undoubtedly, his life as a starving pup on the street probably helped push him to never say 'no' to a meal or a free handout so the dog started to overeat. Every time a student, teacher, or cafeteria staff member would offer the canine a tasty morsel of food he would immediately wolf it down in delight. However, with each passing year, the pounds have become harder for the dog to shed and he is now so overweight that movement is difficult. 

Throughout much of the day, Little White Socks regularly gulps down discarded peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, fruit roll-ups, and innumerable other less-than-healthy treats. Although, the robust dog is loved by everyone they are literally killing him with their loving overindulgence. In an effort to save Little White Socks from a multitude of dire health conditions and an early death, school officials have banned the feeding of the dog. 

Ms. Liu from The Wenhua Elementary School told a reporter with MailOnline, 'Everybody just loves Little White Socks, it's a very quiet and well-behaved dog. It will stand guard at the school entrance whenever the kids arrive or leave at school. I just hope that it can be healthy again.'

Many around the school have voiced their concern about the dog saying that he resembles a pig and they don't know how the canine can move or function. Undoubtedly, his physical condition is critical. 

In addition, to the scraps or snacks ban, students are now requested to take Little White Socks for a daily walk to help him lose weight and get in better shape. All of the students look forward to the privilege of walking the beloved pooch. Nowadays, it seems like everyone at the school is dedicated toward restoring the dog's health so he can live a long and comfortable life. With a whole school filled with children, teachers, and staff who love him, Little White Socks is a lucky dog to have so many now working with him to shed the unwanted pounds.
