Dog Names Ending in cy

Have you ever had a mischievous canine companion?  Have you ever wondered how something so cute and cuddly could get into so much trouble?  Well, Jerome K. Jerome describes just this situation in his comical story Three Men in a Boat.  Our first featured famous dog whose name ends in 'cy' in pop culture is Montmorency, the angelic little terror whose antics take over the book which was originally intended to be a travel guide!  In the book, when Montmorency came to live with Jerome, he thought the darling little Fox Terrier was an angel sent from heaven and, as the saying goes, he could do no wrong.  Jerome doesn't even think the dog will live very long, having the belief that the hyper little dog will get into some dangerous situation and will not be able to extricate himself, buying into the absurd notion that Montmorency was just too cute to be able to protect himself.  We say this notion was absurd because Jerome soon found out, from unhappy neighbors, that this "angelic" little tyke had killed 12 chickens, a cat and who knows how many rats!  Yes, Montmorency was quite the furry fighter, Jerome having the dubious honor of physically pulling him, kicking and snarling, out of over one-hundred street fights!  Why, this plucky pup even  began to terrorize the neighbors; with Jerome finding himself pinned up in his own tool shed for over two hours on a cold night by this "ferocious dog at large".  This tongue-in-cheek literary work is laced with Montmorency's adventures amid the boating trip up and down the Thames taken by Jerome and his two friends, George and Harris.  Given the reputation for the writer's literary story-telling technique, one isn't sure just how much of Montmorency's detailed antics are to be believed.

Percy from Disney's Pocahontas and Pocahontas II: Journey to the New World films is a spoiled Pug belonging to Governor Ratcliffe in the animated 1995 Disney film.  While he is owned by Ratcliffe, he seems to receive the majority of his care from Ratcliffe's servant, Wiggins.  He is quite spoiled, having such luxuries such as his own tub and a carousel of dog biscuits.  This pampered pooch travels to the New World with Ratcliffe and Wiggins by ship.  Later, after a successful journey to the New World, he meets Pocahontas, Meeko and Flit.  The story tells of a variety of antics and "situations" which occur between Percy, Meeko and Flit which are sometimes moderated by Ratcliffe and at other times by Pocahontas.  Eventually, Percy bonds with his new friends and remains in the New World with them when Ratcliffe, Wiggins and John Smith return to England.
