Dog Names Meaning Hilarious

For those not familiar with the television series Frasier, the series (now in syndication, but on air from 1993 - 2004) was a spin-off of the highly successful Cheers. Cheers took place in a Boston pub, and the characters were as diverse as the city itself. The show starred a baseball player, Sam Malone, who bought the pub after his retirement from sports. Many employees became show regulars - Carla, Woody, and the Coach. Some regulars were the bar patrons - Cliff and Norm. One particular employee was the highly educated - and an unlikely barmaid - Diane. Diane was a former flame of Frasier Crane, and, in Cheers, Frasier only played a bit part. However, his character was well received by audiences, thus prompting the spin-off. After a messy divorce, Frasier packed up and moved to his hometown of Seattle, where he took over full-time care of his father. When Martin moved into Frasier's apartment, so did his Jack Russell Terrier, Eddie. 

Eddie appears to live to irritate Frasier. At times, he would simply stare at Frasier, which would often make Frasier very uncomfortable. He would also bark loudly at times when his loud, piercing bark was totally inappropriate. Eddie's antagonistic behavior was often a source of aggravation for Frasier, but a way to make audiences laugh time and time again. 

Eddie was played originally by a dog named Moose. Moose was so rambunctious that his original family had to surrender him. He chased cats continuously; he climbed up trees. He ran away constantly. He could often be found chasing a neighbor's horses. Moose somehow came to live with dog trainer Mathilde Halberg, who began working with the dog. Within six months, Moose was appearing on Frasier. At one time, Moose received more fan mail that his human co-stars. Moose retired from the show around 2000, and his son, Enzo, took over the part of Eddie.
