Dog Names that Start with Ro

A famous "Ro" dog is Roscoe from the Pickles comic strip by Brian Crane. Pickles has been a popular comic strip since 1990. It features a retired couple in their seventies named Earl and Opal and their dog Roscoe. The couple was inspired by Crane's in-laws as they tried to enjoy retired life. Roscoe shares the role of pet with a cat named Muffin. The comic strip won best newspaper comic strip of the year in 2001, and Crane was granted the Reuben Award in 2013.

Muppets character Rowlf is scruffy brown dog with an "Ro" name. He has been described as part Corgi, but he is a mixed breed. He is known for his ability to play the piano and love of classical music, especially Beethoven. He is considered the first known Muppet star due to his recurring role on The Jimmy Dean Show starting in 1963. Rowlf was originally introduced in Purina Dog Chow television commercials in 1962 in Canada with Baskerville the Hound. Rowlf has appeared in many Muppets movies and shows. He was originally created and voiced by Jim Henson. Now, Bill Barretta voices the shaggy dog.

Canine Instagram star, Rosenberg, of Brookly, NY became a media sensation with thousands of followers when his owner began posting photos of the two of them in matching outfits. Pet parent, Topher Brody, tries to emulate his famous Aussie-Poodle mix; in fact, he grew his hair and a beard to match Rosenberg's adorable looks. Chantal Adair was hired as photographer for this photogenic pair but before long, Chantal and Topher became a couple. With a new baby, this family became four and the group uses their fame and media platform to encourage others to donate to charity.
