Golddust Yorkshire Terrier Dog Names

Though not specifically of the Golddust variety, Pistol and Boo are two little Yorkshire Terriers who belong to Johnny Depp, heart throb, and Amber Heard, actress. Ms. Heard wanted to visit her husband Johnny Depp while he was in Australia filming the fifth movie of The Pirates of the Caribbean series. She packed up and flew to Australia accompanied by the Yorkies. Just one problem...Ms. Heard hadn't declared the dogs on an in-flight manifest . She was guilty of smuggling dogs into Australia which could lead to Pistol and Boo being euthanized and she could be fined up to $100,000. Because the United States is not a country that is rabies free, Pistol and Boo posed a biosecurity risk.

Animals who enter Australia must have an import permit and undergo certain tests and and health checks by a certified veterinarian before they are allowed to enter the country. This is to protect Australia from diseases and pests being imported from foreign lands. 

Fortunately for the pair of adorable dogs, Depp managed to remove the dogs from the country before they could be confiscated. The drama wasn't over yet, though. The celebrity couple had to appear in court to answer to the charges. 

A video emphasizing the importance of biosecurity in Australia was played in court and Amber was charged with falsifying an immigration document. Although she pleaded guilty she explained the she thought her assistants had taken care of the necessary paperwork but the prosecutor did not accept her excuse and said, "the law applies to everyone."

The sentence? A one month good behavior bond, which meant she couldn't get in any more trouble in Australia for the next 30 days. The dog-smuggling case made news around the world after Barnaby Joyce,  a minister of agriculture, said "Pistol and Boo need to bugger off home or face being euthanized."

You would think that would be enough drama for two little Yorkies to face. Unfortunately, however, they were in for even more court antics when Depp and Heard filed for divorce. They both wanted custody of the dogs. but who would get their wish? Pistol and Boo ended up staying with Heard because she owned them both before she married Depp. She was also granted custody of a horse named Arrow. It was a long and messy divorce case but it ended with a peaceful resolution. After all this, we can now understand that being a celebrity dog isn't always easy. It can definitely have its disadvantages.
