Interstellar Inspired Dog Name Considerations

As a responsible dog owner, one of the things that you need to do is to pick a name that you will be calling your pooch. Whether you are buying from a breeder or adopting from a shelter, you need to decide on a name that you will be giving to your new furbaby. But instead of just blindly making a decision and going for a name that sounds “cool”, you should put a lot of time and thought into the name that you eventually pick.

A major consideration to make when brainstorming for a name is how easily it can be learned. Dogs are smart but their learning capacities have limits. The ideal length of a dog name should not be any longer than three syllables; a two-syllable name is optimal because it is easy to recall and respond to. If ever your mind is made up and you want to go for a name that is a bit lengthy, you need to have a shorter version of that name that you can use when you call out your pooch.

Pop culture characters are also a common theme for dog names. The film Interstellar has a lot of interesting characters whose names will work well for a dog. For instance, Cooper, which is the name of the film’s lead character, is quite popular as a pet name. You may also go for some of the actors and actresses who are part of the cast.
