Iron Man Inspired Dog Names

A few years ago, relatively few even knew about the existence of Iron Man. He was a Marvel character, but mainstream audiences were unacquainted with the playboy, billionaire, philanthropist. But everything changed when the first Iron Man movie hit theatres. Everyone was hooked, and Iron Man made enough money at the box office to put Marvel back on the map. One of the biggest surprises was the appearance of Robert Downey Jr. in the starring role. For too long, he was an unemployable mess who spent time in and out of rehab for various addictions. No-one doubted his talent, he just seemed to be unable to keep himself together long enough to make a decent movie.

Opinions changed when Downey stepped into the suit for the first time. The movie was a massive success and helped launch the Marvel Cinematic Universe which is a big deal nowadays. Downey and Stark were a match made in heaven. Tony’s defining moment happened in a cave, and Downey’s defining moment happened when he read the script. That was years ago, and now we are eagerly awaiting the release of the Infinity War saga which will blow us all away. Looking at Downey today, his story seems nearly impossible. He is one of the most successful actors in Hollywood. His origin story starts a lot like any other superhero’s story. When he was just a young boy of five, he starred in the movie “Pound”. This was supposed to be a dog-themed answer to “Cats”. It featured a lot of big-name voices and featured an adorable little puppy named Bob, who was voiced by Downey himself. From then on, he took on work where he could get it. It was not until years later when he finally scored his big break in “Chaplin”. Audiences were made aware of the talented youngster and he was poised to take on Hollywood. Jodie Foster noted that he seemed to have trouble because he was too smart. This seems to be Iron Man’s problem as well as if we needed more proof that he was perfect for the role of Tony Stark.

It took a lot to get where he is now, but we’re sure that when Robert Downey Jnr looks down from the dizzying heights of Hollywood glory, he looks back on that little puppy in the pound with fondness. It looks like dogs lead to success.
