Bruno is a well-known dog outside of the social media world. A resident of Longville, the large dog makes regular four mile walks to town from his home and has been twelve or so years. Once in town, Bruno makes his rounds (stopping at city hall, the library, an ice cream shop, the grocery store and a few real estate offices) before returning home to his people, Larry and Debbie LaValle. Bruno was found at the end of their driveway as a puppy. The person who found him brought him up the driveway thinking that he was returning their dog. While Bruno was not their dog, at least then, the LaValle’s decided to keep him. Larry LaValle, who used to be a trash collector, noted that the first time he encountered Bruno in town, he almost beat him there. The LaValles tried to keep Bruno at home, however he was not having it. During his adventures, Bruno is offered scraps from the grocery store’s deli department and treats from friends that he visits. Fortunately, everyone in town watches out for Bruno and while he is aging, his legacy will live on. Longville has dedicated a carved wooden statue to Bruno’s honor, located in a park on the town’s main street. An engraved marker next to the statue states “Longville’s town dog and ambassador”. There is no doubt that Bruno has earned the title of town mascot.
