Trooper is a gifted Porcelaine Hound recognized by a popular search dog group known as the MARK9 Search Dogs. This French scent hound began his training at a young age and developed into one of the best. He is certified for mantrailing, which is the gift of being able to search for a specific person. Trooper has the energy and determination to find a person that he has been trained to find, according to scent.
Working day and night, Trooper is a member of a group of scent dogs who have specific handlers. These handlers work and train them together to do a job, and Trooper has proven to do just that. He is just gorgeous with his porcelain coat and is very loyal to his trainer. The Plano, Texas police force and other search organizations have put their faith in Trooper, and it has really paid off.
Porcelaine Hounds are simply stunning with their porcelain-like coat and appearance. There are many breeders who have Porcelaine Show Dogs, and the Porcelaine has been featured in American Kennel Club dog shows for their poise and beauty. Not only are they beautiful, they have the gift of scent that matches the Bloodhound breed.
Another possible Porcelaine hound, although not proven to be, but sure looks like one, is Speedy. Featured in a classic and "doggone" cute Cartoon, this MGM classic aired in 1949. Directed by Tex Avery, this cat-and-mouse type of story features a rabbit-hunting dog which strongly resembles the Porcelaine, and the rabbit who does everything he can to prevent Speedy from capturing him.
While Speedy and his owner are in their hunting cabin, the rabbit overhears Speedy's owner say, "You'll never catch that rabbit unless you get a good night's sleep!" as he tucks his loyal companion into bed. So, all during the night, the rabbit (now in the cabin) makes noises and pranks so Speedy will be sure to stay awake all night long. The ending is too cute to spoil!
While there are no actual Porcelaine breed dog's in film or music, France has many dog breeds that are quite famous. For example, the Dogue de Bordeaux, or French Mastiff made the breed gain popularity after the movie Turner and Hooch. This movie starred Tom Hanks, and portrayed a crime-solving story starring Hooch, the intelligent dog-detective.
