An adorable Beagle who took social media by storm combines everyone’s love of dogs and the best dish (or food item) you can ever have to create an Instagram account which can melt even the iciest of hearts. Sid is a five year old Beagle who lives in Austin, Texas with his human named Alex. Unlike most of us, Sid leads a pretty chilled back lifestyle that most humans can envy.
First and foremost, Sid the Beagle loves his comfort food! Pizzas, sandwiches, hot dogs, bacon, burgers, and the combination of all of the above are his treats, but only occasionally, as Alex Hopes, the proud owner does not want to give diabetes to his beloved pup. Alex says that Sid is a very good boy who does not take what is not his, and always patiently waits for permission before he claims his ownership. The lovely pup rose to fame when he, sadly, suffered from many injuries after being hit by a car. A GoFundMe campaign was started to raise money for his surgeries, and thousands of people donated thousands of dollars to help the adorable doggo get back on his feet.
After that, Sid the Beagle started gaining followers on Instagram and other social media. When he’s not posing with pupperoni pizza, he is modelling as a mer-dog (a pup version of a mermaid), being featured on the front covers of local newspapers, and hanging around with his best pupper friends. The incredibly adorable Sid is probably the only dog who can balance twelve donuts on the top of his head, forever immortalized in one of the photos in celebration of National Donut Day.
Sid’s name can be tied to punk through another famous character whose star shines bright on the punk sky – Sid Vicious. Sid was a bassist for the Sex Pistols and probably one of the most iconic characters of the 1970s. His inability to actually play bass did not stop him from touring with the band, but his outlandish antics attracted a lot of attention and made him one of the most popular musicians of the time. To this day, he remains one of the most recognized symbols of the whole musical genre.
Punk Inspired Dog Name Considerations
When you rock as hard as the punkers do, the name of your dog should match your lifestyle, right? Since punk is all about self expression and freedom from the constraints of the government, why not name your new pup Rebel? This name is especially great if your doggo has a lot of fur that you can style into a mohawk, perhaps a Shih Tzu or a Chow Chow. If you have an energetic pup who is always up to a mischief, perhaps a Golden Retriever or a Siberian Husky, you can keep it classic and name them simply – Punky!
How about a real punk rocker, maybe a lovely Border Collie or a Jack Russel Terrier lady? Well, if she is, in fact, a punk rocker, the name Sheena can suit her perfectly!
