Teacup Poodle Dog Names

Doug works at  Lyngblomsten Care Center as a medications assistant and Nala goes to work with him every day. The two arrive together but they don't spend the day together. Doug gets busy preparing and administering various medicines while Nala starts her rounds. 

Nala goes unaccompanied to visit her friends. She jumps on laps and cuddles close, bringing each one she visits peace and warmth. She has a knack for knowing which resident needs her most that day, which one has Alzheimer's disease, which one is sickest. She finds them on her own, her heart leading the way. 

Nala not only chooses who she wants to visit but she also finds a way to get to there...even if that means riding an elevator all alone. Although she's a little two short to reach the buttons, someone is usually willing to help her out and do it for her. Once the lift arrives at the floor of choice Nala instinctively knows which way to go. Left or right or straight ahead, she finds the right path to get to the resident she's looking for.

Nala may not be able to verbalize it, but it seems she knows how important it is to help these people. It's been proven that interaction between humans and dogs is beneficial to those who are sick. It makes humans produce Oxytocin, something that's often been called the 'bonding hormone.' It increases the levels of dopamine in the system and decreases the levels of cortisol, the stress hormone.

The patients at the care center love to get visits from Nala. She'll cuddle up with them and let them stroke her silky fur. She will lay with the sickest and keep them company. She loves to give and get hugs and will lay peacefully in a lap for long periods of time.Residents at the nursing home are positive she was sent from heaven above, an angel in fur.

Nala has never had a single day of training to be a therapy dog. It just comes naturally to her. So how does Doug Dawson explain her failure at the first nursing home? He believes she was kept in a kennel too much of the time and not allowed to follow her instincts to who needed her most. "She's here for a purpose. She's doing God's work."
