The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn Dog Names

Huckleberry gets on the roof by leaping from the back yard to the low slanted roof in the rear of the house, a jump of about three feet. He's up there daily in good weather and happily watches the neighborhood. He loves the bird's eye viewpoint and greets the neighbors walking by with a cheerful bark.

The first time Huckleberry made his ascent to the roof line Justin was shocked by the sound. What the heck was it? Thunder? A herd of rampant raccoons? Nope, it was just Huckleberry. Justin was amazed the dog had figured out how to get up there.

The Lindemuths are used to Huck getting lots of attention up on his perch. For a while they had a near-constant stream of visitors knocking on their door to inform them their dog was on the roof. They appreciated the concern but answering the door all the time became a problem so they posted a note beside their door. It read: "Huckleberry is living up to his name and learned how to jump onto our roof from the backyard. We never leave him in the backyard without someone being at home. He will not jump off unless you entice him with food or a ball! We appreciate your concern but please do not knock on our door... we know he's up there! But please feel free to take pictures of him and share with the world!"

There isn't as much knocking going on now but it hasn't cut down on Huck's popularity. He's been featured on shows like Good Morning America and has been written about in multiple newspapers. Huck even has his own Instagram page with thousands of followers. There are lots of pictures of Huck both on the roof and off and some with his owners as well.  They were amazed when they were in India and discovered their dog had even been written up in a newspaper there. Huck is a happy, healthy dog with an obvious spirit of adventure. Here's hoping he's climbing their roof for many years to come.
