The Bodyguard Inspired Dog Name Considerations

As humans, we develop a personal attachment to our names even at an early age. As a young child, you probably take pride and ownership when your name is called out. With pets, however, this is not the case. In fact, your dog probably does not care about the meaning of their name or if it’s unique or not. This is not to say that dog names should not be well thought out; on the contrary, you need to really think about your choice because this is the moniker they will carry forever. Not only that, names are essential to dog training and the easier the name is to recall, the sooner you can get your dog to get used to their new name.

This is why the sound that a name makes is an important consideration when naming your pooch. For dogs, recognizing words is more difficult as opposed to humans and certain letters are easier for them to understand and remember. Names containing hard consonants (d, k, and t) make for great doggy names. The length of the name is also a factor that needs to be taken into account when picking a new name for your dog. Go for a name with no more than two syllables so that it will be easier to pick up and learn.
