This story was found on the blog of Blasco Family Bulldogs, which is written by Daniel Blasco. He's a man who likes to travel around and seek out great dogs that aren't found online, that live with ordinary people in ordinary places. He thinks most of these can be found in out of the way spots, on the back roads. He has collected some interesting stories and I'd like to share one with you now.

One day Mr. Blasco was driving on the back roads around an hour north of Panama City, Fla. when he spotted a beautiful little church snuggled in the woods. A pick up truck sat in its drive and in the bed of the truck he spotted a magnificent White English Bulldog. He turned around and pulled in the drive to get a better look at the dog. Just as he got out of the car a redheaded woman about 60 years old came out of the church and headed towards him and introduced herself as Mrs. Edwards.

"Don't try to pet the dog, That's Blue." she said. "He'll rip your arm off."

He told her he'd actually stopped to admire her dog and explained to her that he liked to collect stories about White English Bulldogs and asked her if she knew any. She said she had a great one about her own dog Blue, a muscle-bound block headed guy who weighed at least 130 pounds.

Mrs. Edwards had a daughter-in-law Sherry , a young mother who lived alone with her children while Mrs. Edwards son, Taylor, was deployed in Iraq. Sherry told her that she'd seen a strange man two days in a row, in two different places, watching her and the kids and it disturbed her. Mrs. Edwards suggested she keep Blue with her for a few days and Sherry agreed.

When Sherry had a doctor's appointment in Panama City she took Blue and the kids with her. Mrs. Edwards had told Sherry to just leave Blue in the car with the windows down and a Big Gulp full of water and a straw so she did. It was late when she finished with the doctor and came out to nearly deserted parking lot. Sherry opened the back door and busied herself putting the kids in their car seats.

Suddenly a white van pulled up, blocking her in. The door slid open and Sherry was snatched by the hair on her head and pulled in the van. It was the man who had been watching her.

Blue would have none of that. He flew across the kids and into the van, attacking Sherry's kidnapper. He injured the man so badly he was in hospital for two weeks.

Mr. Blasco couldn't swear the story was true but having met Blue, he's willing to bet it was.
