Together, you and your pup can embark on a 20 mile round trip ride on a historic train that will take you through parts of the Hoosier National Forest, the Burton Tunnel and limestone formations on the way to Cuzco, where you can exit the train and buy a snack before making the return trip. Dogs are welcome aboard on regular train tours as long as they are on-leash and well-behaved. Enjoy the scenery and learn some history, regardless of the weather!

Step
1

Hide And Seek

Activity description

You may have played hide-and-seek with your pup outside on a nice day. When it is raining, it can feel like such a game is not an option. It turns out that you and your pup can play hide and seek INSIDE when the rain is coming down. The game is no different than its outdoor version and is something most pups can engage in regardless of their energy level. Hide and seek, whether inside or outside, will allow your pup to expend some energy while spending time with their favorite person! You will enjoy some laughs while you are at it.

Step
1
Command and play
Playing hide and seek, whether indoors or outdoors, is typically pretty simple. If your pup is good at "staying" on command, you will have no trouble playing this game. If "stay" is a work in progress, include another friend in the game that can keep your pup back while you hide. Aside from possibly needing someone to hold your pup back, you will want to have dog treats available so that you can reward your pup for finding you.
Step
2
Set things in motion
To get started, encourage your dog to "stay" or have a friend hold your pup back. Then, go ahead and hide where you choose. You can then call for your pup, who will have to seek you out. Once your pup finds you, reward them with a treat. You can then bring your pooch back to the spot where they were told to "stay" last time. Tell your pup to "stay" and find another place to hide. Once you have hidden, you can call for your pup again.
Step
3
Keep playing...and add a twist
You can continue the game for as long as you (and your pup) like. After multiple rounds of the game, when you are confident your pup has caught on, go ahead and add an additional challenge for your pooch; have a second person hide! Your pup can then find both of you. As your pup further develops their skills, you can continue to make the game more challenging for them in order to keep things interesting.
