The neighborhood of the Watertown City Center is a busy one, with multiple shopping centers and small businesses. In the area, there are also some great places to take your pup, like Deland Field. The field is a recreational ballpark with 3 baseball diamonds and extra space for multi-use purposes. The entire space is fenced-in, but dogs will still have to remain on a leash while inside the area. This park offers access to water fountains, benches, and trash bins. Also in the neighborhood is the Adams Road Park, a small, but forested park that offers a small open field, benches, picnic tables, and dirt trails that wind through the surrounding woods. Southeast Watertown is a residential neighborhood on the edge of the city. The area is best known for the gorgeous area of Sylvan Lake Park which surrounds a lake, providing fishing and swimming activities to residents. Oakville
The neighborhood of Oakville is on the southern border of Watertown, and filled with rows of residential homes and bustling streets. The favorited place to go in town for dog walking is Aldorizo Park, a small area that is well maintained and fenced-in. Despite the area being fenced-in, dogs are required to stay on a leash, but can enjoy the wonderful features of the park like the surrounding woods and dirt trails, paved walkways that wind throughout the park, open space, and baseball diamonds. Mount Fair
The Mount Fair neighborhood takes up the complete northern part of the city. The neighborhood is home to the city's second state park, the Mattatuck State Forest which covers over 4,000 acres. The state forest has some great scenery, waterfalls, cliffsides, caves and thick natural forests. There are three different trails that altogether make-up 10.2 miles for hikers and leashed pups. The park has a developed area, as well, that hosts a small picnic area and restroom, and even provides water fountains, trash bins, and benches. The park is open one-half hour before sunrise until a half an hour after sunset.

Eleven miles east of Watertown is the small town of Wolcott, a favorite travel place for Watertown dog-lovers. The town offers travelers and residents the Peterson Memorial Park, which is over 40 acres of open space, recreational fields, forests, and river access to the Mad River.
