Brighton Beach

Looking to spend a day enjoying some New York history and sunshine? Brighton Beach has got both in spades. Commonly referred to as "Little Odessa" due to its large population of Russian and Eastern European families, this area is also known as the beach in Neil Simon's famous play and subsequent film "Brighton Beach Memoirs." 

Like several other New York area beaches, Fido is welcome to join you on Brighton Beach's boardwalk year round, but he must remain on his leash at all times. This seaside playground is much less heavily trafficked than nearby Coney Island Beach. If you were hoping for a relaxing, quiet getaway, you will not be disappointed! Though there are many pawsome attractions at Brighton Beach, catching up on some reading and working on your suntan are two of the most pawpular things to do here. 

Though Fido is not permitted to swim at Brighton Beach, he is warmly welcomed to join you along the coast from October 1st through May 1st, though he must remain on his leash at all times. You and your best canine pal can go for a stroll along the sea, picnic in the sand, or even just enjoy watching the world go by and taking in the many different dialects you will hear at this furrific beach that the locals have claimed as "their own."

You will find that Brighton Beach is very close to many pawpular eateries and shopping areas. If you plan to picnic in the sand, you should pack a lunch, and don't forget to include some drinking water and cleanup bags too as you will need both!

Perhaps Brighton Beach's most pawrific selling feature is its stunningly beautiful views. You will want to be sure to snap a few photos to remind you of your day of fun at the beach with Fido and the fam, for sure!
