Description

Flying point beach is a gorgeous getaway where locals and visitors head for summer fun. Dogs also get to enjoy this happy place all day in the off-season from October the 1st through to April the 1st, but are not allowed within 50 feet of areas designated for endangered birds such as piping plovers. This is their time to grab some one on one time with their owners and have awesome walks on the beach.

All pooches must be on-leash and displaying good doggy manners as they set their paws in the shimmering, white sand and the sparkling Atlantic Ocean. Flying Point Beach is situated in Water Mill, a Southampton community where English colonists settled and established a water mill in the 1600’s in order to grind grain.

Today, Flying Point Beach is a haven for tourists and residents who love bringing their dog to prance around the shore long after the summer crowds have gone. There is around 250 feet of blissful beach, making a sun-bathers wonderland with tidy restrooms, showers, and picnic areas. Lifeguards are watching the ocean from 10 am to 5 pm during the summer months.

Access to the beach is with a season permit for residents and visitors. To be on the beach for a day will cost a traveler $25. Locals will pay $40.00 for a season while folks not living in the area can pay around $375 for a full season pass.

Southampton beach rules insist all dogs be on-leash at all times and well –behaved. Flying Point has a dispenser for doggy poop bags and it’s expected all pet-parents endeavor to keep the beach pristine.

One of the most popular and clean Long Island beaches, this touch of paradise inspires a huge tick of approval from dog guardians who want to exercise their Collie or Rat Terrier on a well cared for coastline.

There is no apparent shade and even in the fall, the sun can have lasting sunburn effects. Pack an umbrella or tent where your pooch can hang out and be sun-safe. Fresh-water is a must for thirsty dogs on the beach, as is respecting other beach-goers right to a stress-free time.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
