Hauula Beach Park

If you're looking for a pawsome place to take your pooch for the day, consider a trip to Hauula Beach Park. It's a pawsitively amazing spot for a getaway that is fun, fun, fun! Situated on what is known as the windward coast of the island of Oahu, this pawrific beach haven is a pawpular area for people looking to get away from it all. 

Hauula Beach Park is quite narrow, but it is long, providing you with a puptastic stretch of sandy coast where you and your pooch can wander in search of seashells or other souvenirs to commemorate your day of beach fun. Though swimming is permitted for both people and pooches, it is not recommended as there is a shallow reef which is rather hard on the tootsies. The water is also quite rough at this pawtastic sandy retreat, but on calmer days, you could definitely take the plunge and do some snorkeling. 

Other favorite activities include fishing, as well as surfing near the northern tip of the park. It is important to note that doggoes are only allowed below the high tide line. This area is considered the ocean side of the area demarcated by debris which is often made evident by the presence of seaweed. 

This wooftastic seaside haven takes its name from a flower by the name of the "red pau," a type of Hibiscus native to the region which blooms in the summer. There are no on-site amenities at Hauula Beach Park, so you will need to bring along all of the things you might need from home.
