Lake Michigan Beach

Lake Michigan Beach is located in Glen Arbor and is one of the many dog-friendly beaches in the area. This beach is nestled closely to Sleeping Bear Dunes. You will find a large beach for your dog to roam and some clear blue waters that are perfect for your dog to go swimming and splashing around in. This is a popular beach, so you will likely find quite a bit of other people and dogs enjoying this spot as well. 

Lake Michigan Beach is known for its clean and sandy beach with soft sand, some of the bluest waters in the area, and massive dunes that are absolutely breathtaking. You have access to tons of hiking and walking trails in the area that are great for taking your dog with you for another adventure. Dogs are allowed at the east end of this beach and they should wear their leash at all times, even when they are in the water. What we really love about this beach is there is a special natural swimming hole especially for your pooch to splash in so you don't have to worry about them going too far into the deep waters of Lake Michigan. 

You may find poop bags available at various points of the beach and park, but there is no guarantee there will be any left, so bring your own just in case the stations run out. Always pick up after your dog does their business so the beach and park stay as clean and beautiful as possible. Also, make sure to bring fresh water and let them rest in a shady area after they play so they don't get too hot and become dehydrated.
