Description

Odlin County Park is a place where holidaymakers can immerse themselves in eighty acres of nature's perfection with a sandy, driftwood shore, ideal for sunbathing, scuba diving, or swimming. Dogs are allowed in the campground and beach, plus the ferries that service Lopez Island from the Washington mainland allow pets to travel, so your pupper can come along for summer fun.

All pooches must be on-leash and well-behaved. Owners are requested to pick up after their woofers and keep them from interfering with other guests. Knowing you can bring your pooch on holiday could be the best news as it’s so hard to leave furry-friends behind.

The park features top amenities including restrooms, showers, picnic areas and fire-rings, plus boat ramps and dog-friendly hiking trails. Camping in a tent is a great way to have time out from a busy city life and enjoy tranquil surroundings on an island alive with wildlife, forests, and a community of artistic endeavor. Art lovers come from all over every Labor Day to meet and view artists during the popular, annual Lopez Island Studio Tour.

Back at the campgrounds, life is a beach where your pooch can play with the driftwood and get tempted by the cool waters of the Salish Sea. There’s no fee added for bringing man’s best friend, who’ll love hanging out with family in this idyllic, Eden setting.

A mile or so of sandy shore with grassy knolls and forest trees lining the perimeter sets the scene for getting away from it all. There are even campsites where you can pitch a tent on the beach and there are kayaks lined up, ready to explore the outskirts of the Island. Imagine sharing a majestic sunrise or sunset with your four-legged pal!

Orcas leaping from the water are a spectacular sight while the Lopez Island Historical Museum in the local village offers an insight into the diverse history of this enchanting island.

Don’t forget to pack a shade umbrella for your woofer while on the beach and keep them hydrated with fresh water. Camping with your dog is a howlin' good experience where your pooch gets to sniff new smells and spend quality time with their favorite people. By following the camp rules, Odlin County Park will continue to be pet-friendly for years to come.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
