Rincon Park and Beach

Rincon Beach is a persuasive reminder of why nature lovers revel in an untamed landscape where ocean waves pound driftwood-laden shores. The beach has a reputation as a surfers “hot spot” and if they are traveling around in the Kombi van with their fur-baby friend, this wild stretch of California coast will appeal as it allows dogs. It is on the north side of the beach where they must be on-leash.

The park is nicely laid out with pavilion-style picnic tables, a fire-pit, restrooms, and a solid stairway, plus a paved boat ramp leading down the bluffs to the shore. The setting is a primitive mix of shrubbery, boulders, rocks, and sand. Mother Nature unleashes her wilder side at Rincon Beach with tide pools (which a great way to cool off on a hot day) and plenty of interesting spaces for dogs to explore.

It’s appreciated if all dog owners keep their fur-babies under control as it can get pretty busy with sunbathers, surfers, and paddle-boarders having a great day out. Also be sure to pick up after your pet-pal and ensure this beach remains open to man’s best friend.

Rincon Beach is a surfer Shangri-La, with point break waves attracting surf champs from all over the planet. A lot of people stop over at the Parkway on the bluff just to take in the dazzling ocean views. They could be on their way to Carpinteria, a quaint coastal city around three miles from the beach offering nature and seal preserves, museums plus beach-side restaurants and stores.

Take an umbrella or pop-up tent for your Rottweiler or Foxy, as the beach is wide open and during the summer season and it gets super-hot. Rincon Beach is a perfect place for contemplative walks with your pooch or watching the surfers “hang ten.” These beasty beaches are a wild card on the Californian coast, where dogs get to splash about in the tide pools and have outdoor fun.
