San Onofre State Beach

San Onofre State Beach is located in San Clemente, California, and features a beach, campground, bluffs, and trails for tons of walking and hiking. This park and beach is a picture perfect location that you will not be able to get enough of, making it the ideal place to spend the day or evening with your furry best friend. San Onofre is one of California's most famous beaches, so expect crowds and lots of people if you decide to check out the beach. With almost 2.5 million visitors per year, if you have a shy dog, this may not be the best beach for them to play and swim at. 

You will find a lot of hiking trails that are dog-friendly, but pets must always wear a leash that is no longer than 6 feet. You will also find plenty of parking in their lots, restrooms located throughout the park, shower stations for washing the salt and sand off from the beach, and they also have fresh water drinking stations as well - great for both you and Fido! Please bring a little bowl for your dog so they have something to drink from. Poop bags should come to the beach and park with you as well. 

At this massive park, the beaches that are dog-friendly include Beach 1 and Beach 6. Dogs must always wear a leash on these beaches. If your dog is too loud, aggressive, or unruly, you and your dog will be asked to leave the park. 

Overall, this is one of the most stunning and popular beaches in California and for a good reason. With soft and sandy beaches, gorgeous blue waters, crashing waves, bluffs, and lots and lots of doggies, San Onofre is a must-visit location. This beach is known for friendly and down-to-earth people who are just looking to soak up some sun and have a great time.
