Description

Arapaho Bay is located in Granby Colorado in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. The campground includes three loops of different types of camps. The campgrounds in this area are generally very busy during the summer, especially over the holidays. So, it’s always good to call ahead and see what the availability is like. Your pooch is also allowed to come on this adventure with you!

The campground is located right next to the beautiful Lake Granby. Lake Granby is part of the Arapaho Recreation Area and provides beautiful views. There really aren’t any trees around the campground because of a Pine Beetle infestation a few years ago. So, there is very little shade. However, it is grassy and there are trees on the other side of the water which creates a beautiful, scenic picture. There is drinking water available at the campsite as well as vault toilets. There isn’t anything listed about showers, but the area does have trash collection, tent pads, and picnic tables. There are no water hookups for RVs. It is a wonderful place if you enjoy fishing, boating, horseback riding, hiking, and more. You can also go to the historic town of Grand Lake for shopping and activities!

Dogs are allowed at the campground so long as they are on a hand leash. That’s the only rule that appears to be listed, so it might be good to call ahead and check about anything additional. However, it’s always important to bring all of the necessities for your pooch, such as food and bedding. It is also very, very important to make sure you pick up after your dog. No one likes stepping in stinky dog poop. Gross!

It is a good idea to keep in mind there are bears. So, keep your camp clean and always have an eye on your pup. This campground is also located at a very high elevation. To avoid sunburns and dehydration, wear a lot of sunscreen and drink plenty of water.

Have your next great adventure with your pup at Arapaho Bay in the famous Colorado Rockies!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
