Beverly Beach State Park

Located just five miles north of Newport, Beverly Beach State Park is popular with day-use visitors and campers all year round, and it's not hard to see why. This 135-acre park offers easy access to a lengthy stretch of sandy beach that provides excellent scenery, plenty of native wildlife, and the chance to just enjoy some time in the sun.

The beach extends from Yaquina Head to the headlands of Otter Rock and, as you'd expect, it's often a hive of activity. Swimmers, surfers, beachcombers, kite surfers, sunbathers, and more will all be happy spending their days either on the sand or in the water here. You can also try to spot migrating whales, explore tide pools bursting with sea life, or take a trip to the nearby Oregon Coast Aquarium.

Take a short stroll back from the sand and you'll find the Beverly Beach State Park campground. Nestled among a towering forest that runs along the banks of Pebbly Creek, this big and bustling campground is one of the largest in the state. It features 53 full hookup sites, 76 electrical sites with water, 128 tent sites with water nearby, a hiker/biker camp, three group camping areas, and 21 yurts (10 of these yurts are pet-friendly).

Tent sites are $21, electrical sites are $31, and a stay in a pet-friendly yurt will set you back $57 a night. Daily parking passes cost $5.

Happily, pets are more than welcome in the campground, but you'll need to remember to keep your pooch leashed and under control at all times. As always, cleaning up after your pet is a must.

It's also worth mentioning that Beverly Beach State Park can get quite busy, so if you're looking to get away from the rest of the world or if your dog doesn't like crowds, this may not be the ideal destination for you. But if you don't mind sharing the beach with plenty of other campers, you'll love your stay in this gorgeous state park!
