Description

If you love the simplicity of camping out in the woods, you’ll be drawn to Cabin Creek Campgrounds on the west side of Yellowstone Park. There’s plenty of open, grassy space for RVs and tents but if you prefer sleeping among the trees, there are tent sites with a secluded forest vibe.

The camp has 15 sites set on five acres with picnic tables, fire rings, and vault restrooms in the Gallatin National Forest where hiking and fishing are popular pursuits. Over the road from the camp is Madison River, a hotspot for anglers to test their skills.

Cabin Creek Campground sits between two lakes known for their wow-factor scenery. Quake Lake was actually formed from a real-life earthquake that hit the area in 1959 while Hegben Lake is considered “simply the best” for trout fishing.

Pet-lovers can bring their dogs but there are a few basic rules to be followed like keeping your pooch on a leash no longer than six-feet and making sure they are monitored at all times. Yellowstone is brimming with wildlife so it’s for their safety and the people staying in the camp. Owners are also responsible for picking up their dog's waste.

You can stay up to 16 days but there are no hookups for trailers and RV’s to water, sewer, or electricity. Some folks appreciate time out from the comforts of home and heartily embrace the spirit of Montana with its majestic mountains, forests, and untamed landscapes. Bears come looking for food, so it's recommended you bring secure containers and keep them well hidden.

The area could be labeled a "hiker’s heaven" with the Cabin Creek trail around 4-5 miles in length offering lake and mountain views. Dogs are allowed on the trail and must be leashed.

Take a twenty-minute drive to the town of West Yellowstone where spectacular sights captivate and the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center is a must-see. Here, the kids can watch real wolves and grizzly bears in a wildlife park setting. The legendary Yellow Stone Park is only a stone's throw away and one of the most thrill-seeking spaces on the planet!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
