Emigrant Group

Emigrant Group Campground is a fantastic location for an adventure with a furry friend. This amazing campground is located in Tahoe National Forest, a forest spanning nearly 900,000 acres in northern California near Lake Tahoe. The campground is divided into four sections; Woodsman and Prospector can accommodate up to 50 people each, and Rancher and Trapper can accommodate 25 people each. Each site is equipped with a number of useful amenities that will enhance your visit. You’ll find drinking water and cooking and picnic structures like grills and tables, and there are fire pits and horseshoe pits as well. 

While you will find plenty of ways to pass the time with your dog at the campsite, you may want to venture into the surrounding area to take advantage of the numerous outdoor activities available in Tahoe National Forest. Stampede Reservoir is one of the featured sites nearby; it offers the opportunity for boating, water skiing, swimming, and fishing. You can also find numerous trails through the forest that provide a wonderful opportunity to observe the northern California flora and fauna that so many nature enthusiasts are drawn to every year.

When you and your dog visit Emigrant Group Campground, you should keep a few things in mind in order to make your stay a great one. Remember that you are in an active bear zone, so take the appropriate precautions and keep all your food in a safe container. Also note that there is a fee for boat ramp use if you plan to boat on the reservoir.
