Description
Nestled next to the beautiful Alabama River in a luscious, natural, and peaceful landscape is the Gunter Hill Campground. This secluded campground is surrounded by a gorgeous forest of Hickory and Pine. As well as being situated on the Catoma Creek the campground offers experienced and amateur anglers excellent fishing opportunities that are home to Crappie, Bass, and Catfish, all popular fish that are found in these areas.

Visitors to this campground are also able to enjoy the campground all year round, the peak seasons being Spring and the Fall. There are also multiple outdoor activities to take part in such as hiking, boating, and hunting.

Nearby, The Lowndes Wildlife Management area boasts a hunting ground for wild turkeys, whitetail deer, hogs, waterfowl, and small game. The hunting ground covers quite a large area and is estimated at an average of 12,500 acres in total. It is open all year round. Within the campground, itself, is also a basketball court and playground to entertain groups and visitors to the area.

In total there are approximately 142 sites available at the campsite, 75 of them being newly built and offering concrete pads and sewers. There are various amenities available in all sites such as flushing toilets, laundry facilities, dump stations, drinking water and shower stations. There is also a picnic shelter nearby for families and groups to fire up the BBQ for a lovely meal. There are outdoor pits and waist high pits.

If you are thinking of visiting this campground, you'll be happy to know that you are able to bring your pet dog, so no leaving them behind. And as long as you put them on a leash and clean up after them, everything is fine!

Visitors for the day are charged $5 per day. To stay in the campsite overnight it costs between $18.00 and $26.00 per night, so it is very affordable for families interested in going on holiday.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
