Description

The Loggers Lake Campground sits by the 22-acre Loggers Lake among the beautiful and thick Mark Twain National Forest. The small, dog-friendly campground accommodates tent camping and RVs up to 34 feet in length. The campground is easily accessible from Highway 72 and can be found on the southeast part of the lake.

The primitive campground consists of 14 secluded sites, each equipped with a tent pad, table, fire ring, and lantern post. The sites are $10 per night, and there is a day use fee of $2. The no-frills campground features drinking water and vault toilets on-site that are said to be clean and stocked most of the time. The campground overlooks the scenic, spring-fed Loggers Lake and some mature trees that cast a decent amount of shade. The lake is well-maintained, especially since it is over 75 years old and is still considered the go-to location for anglers in the area. It is stocked with largemouth bass, channel catfish, and sunfish. Since there are two boat ramps at the campground, as well as a barrier-free fishing pier, Loggers Lake is not only popular among fishing enthusiasts but also non-motorized boating fans. If your idea of fun consists of relaxing on a small boat, with a fishing rod in hand, your canine companion by your side -- this place will be pawfect for you!

For the four-legged fitness fans, the Loggers Lake Trail that starts at the campground will provide a great opportunity for some leashed exercise and bird watching. It runs through a wooded area, by small creeks, over a wooden bridge, and loops back to the campground.

There is a day use area that includes a swimming beach, a few grills, and several picnic tables. It is a great place for a day outdoors with your friends or a family reunion. Since this picturesque location is popular and operates on a first-come-first-served basis, make sure to arrive early if you want to book a great site, especially on the weekends.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
