Description

Potato Hills South Campgrounds are a popular visiting place for many campers near Clayton, Oklahoma. At these campgrounds, guests can either camp in a tent or in an RV. Guests love that there is close access to the water for water sports and boating.

Many guests love the wildlife in the area. Hunters, fishers, and wildlife enthusiasts can all enjoy the scenery and animals in south-central Oklahoma. Hunting is permitted in parts of the area depending on the season. Most of the hunting takes place near Sardis Lake. Fishers love getting out on Sardis Lake. There are many species of bass, crappie, catfish, and walleye in the lake, which are a big draw for many fishers. Boat ramps make getting out on the lake a breeze.

Picnics are a big draw to the park. During your stay at Potato Hills South Campgrounds, enjoy a picnic near the beach of the lake or forest. If you want to have a camp fire at the campgrounds, please not that you aren't allowed to bring in firewood from other places due to the potential for tree-killing pests to invade the region.

Hikers and wildlife lovers love that there are more than 8,000 acres of undeveloped land around the campground and lake. Dogs are welcome to accompany their owners on these hikes as long as they are kept on leashes no longer than six feet at all times.

Dogs are welcome in the campgrounds, but they are prohibited on the beach. Dogs are able to hike and stay with their owners in the campgrounds. Owners should never leave their dogs unattended in the campgrounds. Dogs should be kept on leashes at all times, and owners need to be responsible for cleaning up after their pets.

If you arrive at Potato Hills South Campgrounds and there aren't any more places for camping, Potato Hills Central Campground isn't far away. Nature trails between the two areas can be found in both campsites.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
