Selkirk Shores State Park

Situated at the eastern end of beautiful Lake Ontario, Selkirk Shores State Park is a beautiful campground where pets are welcome to join you in the great outdoors. Whether visiting in summer, winter, or any other time of year, there are plenty of wonderful experiences to enjoy.

The most fun can, of course, be had on and around the great lake, which draws visitors from far and wide. Fishing and bird watching are both popular pastimes, but there's no better way to see the best Selkirk Shores State Park has to offer than to take in a spectacular sunset over the chilly waters of Lake Ontario.

The park features a network of hiking and biking trails that wind their way through lush meadows and woodlands. However, the best thing about Selkirk Shores State Park is that pets are more than welcome to join in the fun. You'll need to remember to keep your dog on a leash of six feet or less at all times, not to mention take care to always clean up after your pet.

There's a $7 park entrance fee for cars, but those looking to stay overnight have their pick of campsites, cabins and even a full-service cottage. Pets aren't permitted in a small selection of cabins and cottages, but most of them are pet-friendly. Campsites directly overlook a bluff n Lake Ontario, so it's a pretty spectacular place to spend a night or three with your furry friend.
