Description

Utah Lake is located in Orem, Utah. It is very popular in the summer with boaters and those that enjoy water sports. The lake itself is 96,600-acres. So, there’s plenty of places to play! Dogs are also allowed, so your pooch can come along for fun in the sun, as well!

Utah Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Utah and does have some sandy beaches as well as some shallow water to play in. To get to the campground, just head to the east side of the lake.  There are restrooms, showers, and drinking water available. Currently, fires are not allowed on the beaches themselves, and you must bring your own firewood. The campground boasts several boat launches, great fishing, and a great place to do water sports. As far as things to be aware of, Utah Lake itself has had problems with Algal Blooms over the last few years. So, just keep that in mind if you or your pooch are playing in the water.

As for your dog, if they are coming along for the ride, be sure to bring them plenty of water, food, bedding, toys, and poop bags. Don't ruin someone's day by letting them step in a big pile of your doggo's poop. So, make the day better for everyone and just clean up after your dog. Also, your dog must never be left unattended, be kept on a leash that is six feet or less and can't be in some buildings or water areas.

If you’re looking for a camping adventure that includes fun in a lake, Utah Lake State Park is a great place for your next adventure!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
